Melissa Shippee - Twining Vines

Description:  

The word “twining” in the project’s name describes the helical winding of vine tendrils around another stem or object. This project uses a combination of bead embroidery and bead weaving with seed beads plus glimmering Preciosa crystals, pearls, and crystal banding to construct this truly unique beading project. The piece works up extremely quickly and is more lightweight than it seems!  

Skill level: Intermediate 

Techniques: Bead embroidery, Brick stitch, Tubular Herringbone 

Materials: Preciosa crystal stones, sew-on metal settings, Preciosa crystal banding, Japanese seed beads, nonwoven stitching base, Ultrasuede or cork fabric backing 

Students should bring: Fabric glue, size 10-12 beading needles, embroidery needles, choice of beading thread to coordinate with the kit color selected; Lighting/Magnification, your usual beading supplies

Kits are not mandatory but are available from the instructor $70 + shipping

To attend this event, you will need either a laptop or tablet along with the Zoom Application which can easily be downloaded for either Windows, Apple, or Android devices, and a good internet connection.  After registering and paying for your class, you will be sent a link to the online class the week of the workshop.

Class space is confirmed upon receipt of payment. There are no class refunds unless the class is canceled by SocialBeadia.  If you need to cancel, you may transfer your spot to another student, or you will receive all instructional materials and the option to purchase a kit if available.
