One day class - Intermediate

I went back to my roots! Spikes, a variety of two-hole beads and cabochons embellish this bead embroidered cuff. We will have some fun creating a separate component that will be attached to a piece of cork fabric, and then further embellished with more beads and spikes, and then attached to a metal blank.

As with most of my pieces, you have the creative freedom to do what you want while designing. This would also make a fabulous neckpiece.

Peyote stitch, bead embroidery and brick stitch, and picot edging are used in this design.

Keeper of the Stars

One day class - intermediate

Prerequisites -CRAW, RAW, Peyote

Inspired by the song that was the first dance at my late sister and brother-in-law’s wedding, “The Keeper of the Stars,” this Art Deco-style necklace is a nod to the 1920s and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.  I designed this piece to honor them and the love they shared. The song speaks of the blessings we receive from the universe that brings love into our lives which is represented by the sparkling arch embracing the custom-coated, pear-shaped German glass cabochon. The archway is embellished with precious metal-plated cup chain and 28 pearls representing the 28 days of the lunar calendar. Within the carved glass of the cabochon is a picture of a kaleidoscopic field of shooting stars and it is encrusted with Swarovski crystals. The fringe at the bottom of the focal swings like a flapper’s dress which reminds us to dance through our lives, savoring each moment with those we love.

In addition to the beautiful sparkling elements in the focal and arch, there is a mix of over 100 Swarovski, Preciosa, and Austrian crystals and pearls that sparkle like stars in the night sky. Each of these crystals is surrounded by a mix of precious metal-plated seed beads and iridescent drop beads.

Stitches used- RAW, CRAW, netting, Russian spiral, herringbone, Albion, and peyote.

 Kit cost: $125

One day class - Intermediate

Prerequisites - Peyote

You don’t need to be royalty to appreciate the delicate, feminine Princesa necklace with its gently curved centerpiece of Austrian crystals, graceful straps, and beaded closure. The design features two different-sized rivolis and a pear-shaped stone, all Austrian crystal enclosed with peyote-stitched bezels and finished with layers of embellishments that add depth and texture. The project includes variations for coordinating items, including a matching bracelet and earrings.

Prerequisites: Everyone can do it with a willing, persevering spirit.  RAW bezel, Brick Stitch edge, Back Stitch, Fringe

Oh, the joy its appearance brings, the change of season upon its wings.  The complex symbolic language of the Victorian era believed butterflies represented the soul. With beading in our souls and Victoriana on our minds, let's add a modern twist by using glorious vibrant colors.

Students should bring to class: White gel pen, short sharp scissors, 6lb smoke Fireline, beading awl, tape measure, E6000 glue, and Sharpie.
