Vicky Roberts

Vicky Roberts has been creating jewellery for roughly fifteen years. As most beaders do, Vicky started with a bit of stringing before moving on to other mediums. She owned a small handmade jewellery store at the beginning of her career and would regularly force her husband into making polymer clay candy charms with her to add to bracelets; he still has nightmares about that.

A couple of years later and after admiring all the beautiful beading she saw online, she finally decided to give it a try. Her first piece fell apart in a friends hand and was a bit mortifying, but with lots of encouragement, a couple of local classes and much needed practice, you could say the rest is history. As a beading magpie she adores anything sparkly, and if you see her without her dangly earrings, please check that she hasn’t been abducted by aliens and a clone put in her place.

Vicky is now the current editor of Bead and Jewellery magazine and has been doing this for the last three years. She’s taught numerous classes locally and nationally, spent a year as a Starman Trendsetter and has taken part in multiple competitions, including being a finalist in Bead Dreams and winning her category in the British Bead Awards. She loves nothing better than encouraging others to pick up and needle and conquer the world one bead at a time.
