Frauke Gugat
Specialty - Bead Weaving
Frauke Gugat is a seed bead artist based in southern Germany who discovered her passion for beading in 2006. Captivated by the endless creative possibilities of combining the tiniest seed beads into ever-evolving patterns, she quickly began developing her own distinctive designs. Her intricate work has been featured in leading bead magazines, including Perlenpoesie (Germany) and Bead Art (Japan). She regularly exhibits at bead fairs, participates in competitions, and is deeply committed to sharing her expertise—teaching classes across Europe and, more recently, via Zoom in the United States. In every setting, she is known for her thoughtful, attentive approach, ensuring each participant feels supported and inspired.
Frauke’s work spans all major bead weaving techniques, though she is especially drawn to Cubic Right Angle Weave (CRAW). Inspired by her fascination with geometric structures, she transforms ideas into designs that are both harmonious and uniquely expressive. Her jewelry is multilayered, intricate, and delicately adorned, with a playful sense that captures the eye. As Frauke herself says, “My designs don’t need precious stones to sparkle.”
