Rangashrii Santhanam is an award-winning bead artist and designer whose stunning, intricately detailed creations have captivated beaders around the world. Since discovering her passion for beadwork in 2009, her designs have been featured in publications like Beadwork and Bead and Jewelry, and she is a proud member of the esteemed Beadsmith Inspiration Squad.

Originally from Chennai, India, Rangashrii has a background in the sciences and moved to the United States in 2005. Her journey into beadwork started with a simple desire—to create jewelry that would complement her vibrant, elaborate Indian attire. Beginning with YouTube videos and artist tutorials, she developed her skills and, in 2017, began designing, writing, and publishing her own tutorials.

Bead weaving is her preferred technique, attracted by its complexity and creative potential. Her signature style is bold, glamorous, and full of sparkle, often inspired by the organic beauty of nature—especially floral forms. A frequent traveler, she rarely goes anywhere without her beads in tow.

Rangashrii now lives in South Carolina with her supportive husband, their son, a beloved “puppy princess,” and a delightfully spoiled cat she affectionately calls her “favorite child.” When she isn't beading, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending quality time playing board games with her family.
