About the Event
Description: Collage Earrings & Ring
Skill level is strong beginner/intermediate and the prerequisite is tubular peyote. “Collage”—a piece where you get to weave an earring, cut it into pieces, and reassemble it to create two earrings from the one plus a ring to match! This warped square shape uses Contemporary Geometric Beadwork techniques first developed by Jean Power, combined with exploding hyper techniques shared by Kate McKinnon. The tri-wing rings are a variation of a joint effort from Dustin Wedekind and Kate. This class came about when Kate challenged me to make a pair of earrings for her new pattern book. The design is inspired by the DayGlo colors and geometric patterns of the ’80s but can definitely be made with more muted colors if desired.
