Catherine Haedrich - Onya

About the Event
Inspiration came from the Chrysocolla stone focal both in shape and color. I thought antique metal tones worked best with cyan (blue green) so I echoed those colors along with black to create what, in my mind, is the look of sand. Long after finishing the piece, I was struck when I found the above illustration with /all/ the same colors. Aine, pronounced (On-ya), is the ancient Irish faery goddess of summer, love, fertility, wealth and sovereignty. I really liked the name Onya even though it was the pronunciation. I hope you enjoy the fun parts of this project; colors, shapes, fringe and possibly experience a faery-like feeling while making it.
