Melissa Shippee - 2-Day Mask Workshop

Description:  

This workshop will require you to plan your design, gather your own materials, and work with Melissa.  She will send you a design inspiration PDF ahead of time so you can start thinking about a possible design, as well as gathering materials you'd like to use.  The only supply she will provide for those who wish is a handmade nonwoven mask base, in either black or white color, for $30. In addition, before ordering, she will send you a link to a video on how she makes the mask bases, so you can decide whether you'd like to make one yourself or purchase one from her

The white mask bases are suitable for those who plan on using light-colored beads, painting or coloring the base with a permanent marker, or sewing fabric onto the base to cover the white. The black bases are $30 each and are suitable for sewing medium tone to darker colors of beads directly onto the base. The bases are made from heavyweight sewing interfacing and are stitched to conform to the natural curves of a face. You can cut them to make different shapes, an asymmetrical shape, or you can add nonwoven pieces to them to extend the shape outward.

In addition to the two-day workshop with instruction on both design and various techniques Melissa has used in her masks, you'll receive a link to a video of all the demonstrations after class and an invitation to a Facebook group for those who have taken this mask design class with her, as well as continued support as you finish your mask design through email.

To attend this event, you will need either a laptop or tablet along with the Zoom Application which can easily be downloaded for either Windows, Apple, or Android devices and a good internet connection.  After registering and paying for your class, you will be sent a link to the online class the week of the workshop.

Class space is confirmed upon receipt of payment. There are no class refunds unless the class is canceled by SocialBeadia.  If you need to cancel, you may transfer your spot to another student, or you will receive all instructional materials and the option to purchase a kit if available.
