Journey into an otherworldly world of color and dimension with Cindy Holsclaw’s Moons of Saturn! This stunning necklace combines colorful Czech Saturn beads with intricate RAW and PRAW beadwork to create a design filled with fascinating shapes, texture, and movement.
At the center of the necklace is a dramatic focal pendant featuring a Saturn bead suspended within several graceful arcs of beadwork. Using right-angle weave (RAW) and prismatic right-angle weave (PRAW-3), you’ll create the dimensional framework surrounding the bead, then embellish it with delicate Japanese seed beads for added detail and sparkle.
You’ll also learn how to stitch the coordinating embellished beaded beads that echo the faceted beauty of the Czech Saturn beads. They’re so enjoyable to make, you may find yourself wanting to create more than you need for the necklace! Use them as shown, or incorporate them into bracelets, earrings, and other jewelry designs.
In this class, Cindy will guide you through the techniques needed to create both the unique beaded beads and the statement focal, including the wirework used to encase the Saturn bead. The finished necklace is completed with additional Saturn beads and Czech pearls for a beautifully cohesive design.
